Excuse me miss, your card has been DECLINED!
So I was minding my own business, busily working away and I get a call on my cell phone. . area code started with (513)-xxx-xxxx. Sorry, not going to answer that call. So I get a voicemail, “We recently noticed some fraudulent activity on your credit card, please call us”
At first, I’m like my bank is local owned and operated, why wouldn’t they call me themselves?
So I called the bank instead. . got a girl and told her bout the call. I’m being cautious because what if the call is a guy trying to get my info to do bad things (NOT FALLING FOR IT!). . . .I rather go to the source and make sure it’s accurate. At which point, I’m pulling up my account activity online. There’s like one charge that I have no idea what it’s from for $1.94 from a company in TX. I told her maybe that’s what flagged the account. She said she had to talk to her branch manager and would call me back.
Apparently, someone tried to run a small amount that we wouldn’t notice and then a couple days later they would run a larger amount if the small amount went through. But lucky for us our bank is on top of things and stopped it before it even got to our account. I love our bank!!!

The downfall is that our debit cards are now terminated and we have to live on cash til our new cards come in which could be any day.
I hate carrying cash. . I don’t know why, but I think I have a higher chance of getting robbed or something. And planning out how much cash I need in a week sucks. Plus I don’t write checks anymore. . expect for bills. . . so overall big inconvenience!
